Commerce Students of Multani Mal Modi College visited Kasauli and Chokhi Dhani

P.G. Department of Commerce, M.M.Modi College, Patiala organized a one-day educational excursion to Kasauli and Chokhi Dhani under the guidance of Principal, Dr. Khushvinder Kumar. A group of 100 students joined the trip under the supervision of Prof. Neena Sareen, Dean and Head, P.G. Department of Commerce. The students visited Manki Point, Church and local markets of Kasauli. The students also conducted a survey on challenges faced by the local shopkeepers in running their business Successfully. The results of the survey indicate that most of the shopkeepers run grocery stores and the biggest challenge faced by them is competition with online retailing business. The sales went drastically down during the lockdown imposed due to Covid-19. The results also show that the shopkeepers do not receive any support from local government. However, they are interested in attending workshops and training programmes related to growth of their small business.
At Chokhi Dhani the students were exposed to different aspects of Rajasthani Culture. They relished Rajasthani food and learnt a lot about history and culture of Rajasthan through different stalls and exhibits. Prof. Parminder Kaur, Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Prof. Rajan Goyal, Prof. Ravinder, Prof. Harsimran, Prof. Mandeep Kaur, Prof. Simarjit Kaur and Prof. Rupinder Kaur accompanied the students on this excursion.

ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਐਮ.ਐਮ.ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਕਸੌਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਖੀ ਢਾਣੀ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਦੌਰੇ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ 100 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸਮੂਹ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ, ਡੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਖੀ, ਪੀ.ਜੀ.ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਕਾਮਰਸ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਹੇਠ ਇਸ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਲਈ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਸੌਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਾਣਕੀ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ, ਚਰਚ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੁਕਾਨਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਪੇਸ਼ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਦੁਕਾਨਦਾਰ ਕਰਿਆਨੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਚਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਰਿਟੇਲਿੰਗ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋਵਿਡ -19 ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ ਲੌਕਡਾਊਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿਕਰੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ ਗਈ। ਨਤੀਜੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਦੁਕਾਨਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਧੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਚੋਖੀ ਢਾਣੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨੀ ਭੋਜਨ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਟਾਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਾਫੀ ਕੁਝ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸੈਰ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ: ਗੌਰਵ ਗੁਪਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਰਾਜਨ ਗੋਇਲ, ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਰਵਿੰਦਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਹਰਸਿਮਰਨ, ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਸਿਮਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ
